Celebrating a Successful "I Love to Read" Week!
Posted on
Our school just wrapped up an amazing I Love to Read Week, and we are beyond thrilled with the participation, enthusiasm, and love of reading displayed by both students and staff.
The students blew us away by reading a grand total of 9,564 minutes—that's an impressive achievement, and we couldn’t be more proud! Their dedication and excitement for reading made the week truly special.
A huge thank you goes out to our special guest readers, who helped make the event even more memorable. The kids had the opportunity to hear stories from a variety of community figures, including the Mayor, local police officers, firefighters, and the superintendent of Rockyview. We were also joined by many of our amazing teachers and staff members who took time to share their favorite stories with the kids. The students loved hearing from these familiar faces and learning about the importance of reading in different careers.
One of the highlights of the week was Character Dress-Up Day, where students had the chance to dress as their favorite book characters. From classic literary heroes to modern-day favorites, it was a sight to see so many creative costumes around the school. It was heartwarming to witness students expressing their love for the characters that inspire them.
A big thank you to everyone who contributed to making I Love to Read Week such a success! Whether you were a guest reader, a participant, or a supporter, your involvement helped create a week that will be remembered by all. We hope this celebration of reading continues to inspire our students to read more and explore new stories.
Let’s keep the love for reading going strong all year long!
